History

On July 10, 1981 Worcester County and the Worcester District Registry of Deeds celebrated 250 years of continuous service to the people of the region. Since its formal inception in 1731, the Registry has known 16 registers, some of which served on an interim basis only. Through the years the Registry has matured into one of the more vital and stable offices in Central Massachusetts government.
