Oath of Office Service is Available

Newly appointed or renewing Notaries may take their oath at the Registry of Deeds. However, an appointment is necessary. Please call (413)443-7438 to make an appointment. Have your Notary Certificate handy when you call.

We will also administer oaths to members of governmental commissions and other appointments where an oath is required.

(note: you must take the oath within 90 days of your appointment date).

A journal to record notarial acts, which the Governor’s Executive Order 455 suggests you keep for recordkeeping purposes, may be purchased at the State Bookstore in Room 116 of the State House, at various retail office supply stores, or on the Secretary of State website at  www.sec.state.ma.us/spr/sprcat/agencies/950.htm
