Notary Public

Notary Public Services Available

If you have a document that must be notarized, you may come to the Registry Office during our normal hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Please bring the document that must be notarized and some form of photo identification issued by a government agency (such as a drivers license or passport). Do not sign the document until the notary directs you to do so.

If you are currently a Notary and your commission is expiring you can renew your Notary right here at the Southern Berkshire Registry of Deeds. Approximately sixty days before your commission expires, you should fill out the Notary Renewal Application and pay the $60.00 renewal fee to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Please contact the Secretary of the Commonwealths Office for details. When this process is complete you will receive an appointment certificate. Bring the certificate of appointment with you to the Southern Berkshire Registry of Deeds and we will administer the Notary Oath (note: you must take the oath within 90 days of your appointment date). Our service is free and no appointment is necessary.

ATTENTION: ALL NOTARIES
A journal to record notarial acts, which the Governor’s Executive Order 455 suggests you keep for recordkeeping purposes, may be purchased at the State Bookstore in Room 116 of the State House, at various retail office supply stores, or on the Secretary of State website at  www.sec.state.ma.us/spr/sprcat/agencies/950.htm
