Guidelines For Public Entry:

The Great Barrington Town Hall will be closed to the public until further notice, as of Monday December 21, 2020. Any questions please call our office at 413-528-0146.

Highly recommend e-filing of documents (Recorded Land Only)

Go to: massrods.com/berkshiresouth (Registry Home Page) Find:Recording Info -> Tab: eRecording:

 will supply you information to: Getting Started as well as a list of e-Recording vendors and their contact information.

 Will continue with drop off/pick up bins:

Call the office: 413-528-0146 or email: [email protected] To let us know to expect a drop off. Upon your drop off please leave a contact number or email to:

-connect for questions

-if you will be waiting outside for your documents

-when we have completed your recording & placed in pick up bin

-supply a S.A.S.E as we would be happy to mail back after recording.

Walk-In recordings:

Will resume with a slightly different approach after your recording(s) has been handed to us.

-take a seat at the designated table, depending on the amount of customers in the office.

-wait outside in the fresh air, we will bring the recording(s) out to you when we have completed the process.

Registered Land Recordings:

Please note that we will now require an appointment be made for the recording of Registered Land documents. As well as keeping the requirement that the documents to be recorded be emailed to Michelle for viewing and approval before appointment can be made. Should you have questions please email Michelle at: [email protected] or call our office 413.528.0146.

Registered Land ( Land Court):

-Cannot be electronically recorded.

-If you have Registered Land documents: Please email them to [email protected]. We will look at them to verify no changes are needed. Then they may be submitted for process via the procedures listed above.

 Notary Services and Swearing-In’s: will be by appointment, please call our office at 413-528-0146 or email: [email protected],state.ma.us

Research: will be by appointment, as everything is available via: masslandrecords.com

Monday April 19th, 2021 The Registry will be CLOSED in observance of Patriots’ Day.

It has come to our attention that National Grid customers are being contacted by telephone by individuals who claim to be from National Grid and demand payment on their utility bill. They also demand over the phone payment to replace your old meter with new smart meters and threaten customers with service termination within hours if phone payment is not made immediately. Please follow this link if you would like more information on utility scams:
