Congress has recently passed three emergency relief packages to help address the massive health care and economic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, <\/span><\/span>Congressman Jim McGovern of Massachusetts 2nd District has created an information webpage with updates and helpful resources for constituents. Monday, March 23, 2020<\/span><\/p>\n

On March 23, Governor Baker issued an emergency order<\/a> ordering nonessential businesses and organizations to close their physical workspaces and facilities to customers, workers and the public.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Effective March 24, 2020, 12:00pm<\/span><\/strong>, the Mercantile Center, which houses the Registry of Deeds, will be closed to the public<\/span><\/span>. The building is tentatively scheduled to reopen on April 7, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

If you have a walk-in recording, before arrival please first contact the Registry at 508-368-7000<\/strong><\/span> to let us know you’re dropping off documents. We will meet you at the entrance to the building at 100 Front Street, Worcester, to take the documents for recording. The originals will be returned via USPS.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There are no changes to the process for mailed or electronically recorded documents. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As of today, the Worcester Registry of Deeds is open and is continuing to record documents. Our recording hours remain 9am until 4pm. Please review the following information and call the Registry at 508-368-7000 if you have questions about this process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To help limit exposure to the coronavirus, we ask you observe the following guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. For entities that are currently set up to electronically file, please use this method for all eligible documents.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. For eligible entities that have not yet signed up to e-file, we strongly encourage you to do so. Please see below for enrollment information.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. If you are not set up\/eligible to e-file, please submit documents via US Postal Service, UPS or FedEx to:<\/span><\/p>\n
